How it works
FoolMoon uses Stripe Connect Express to handle payments between your guests and you. The flow is simple:
- The guest pays for their ticket online via your event page (bank card, Apple Pay, Google Pay).
- Stripe transfers the funds directly to your Stripe Connect account. FoolMoon never touches your money — you're its sole owner.
- Stripe automatically pays out the available balance to your bank account on the standard Stripe schedule (typically 2 to 7 working days after the sale).
FoolMoon takes a commission on each transaction to cover platform costs. Stripe fees (around 1,4 % + 0,25 € for European cards) are added on top and deducted directly by Stripe.
Commissions by plan
The FoolMoon commission is calculated as the higher of a fixed amount and a percentage of the ticket. This rule ensures that small tickets stay viable for the platform.
Example: with the Pleine Lune plan, a 12 € ticket generates a commission of max(0,30 € ; 3 % × 12 €) = max(0,30 € ; 0,36 €) = 0,36 €. A 5 € ticket gives max(0,30 € ; 0,15 €) = 0,30 €.
Activate Stripe Connect Express
To collect payments, you need to create a Stripe account via FoolMoon. This account belongs to you — FoolMoon can't read or modify it.
The process takes about 5 minutes:
- In your platform area, click "Activate payments".
- Stripe guides you through creating or connecting your account: email address, bank details (IBAN), and identity verification (ID card or passport required by European banking regulations).
- Once the verification is approved by Stripe (usually instant, sometimes a few hours), payments are automatically activated on your FoolMoon events.
Transfers to your bank account
Stripe automatically transfers your available balance to the bank account registered in your Stripe Connect account.

- EUR only (bank account in the SEPA area required)

- No additional FoolMoon fees — Stripe may apply fees depending on your country
You can track your payments, refunds and transfers from the Stripe dashboard, accessible via your FoolMoon area or directly at dashboard.stripe.com.
Refunds
Refunds are managed from your Stripe Connect dashboard. FoolMoon doesn't process refunds on your behalf — you're responsible for your cancellation policy towards your guests.
If an event is cancelled, we recommend refunding the full ticket via Stripe before deleting the event.
