foolmoon is the infrastructure organisers use to manage their private events. foolmoon does not access, use or sell your data for its own purposes. The organiser who invited you is the data controller under GDPR.
Who collects your data?
The person who invited you — the event organiser — entered your first name and phone number to send you this invitation. foolmoon is the technical tool they use: a service provider, not a marketing actor.
FoolMoon UG (haftungsbeschränkt) acts as a data processor under GDPR for the data associated with your invitations. The organiser is the data controller.
What data is stored?
- Your first name as entered by the organiser
- Your phone number
- Your participation status (invited, confirmed, arrived, withdrawn)
- Timestamps of these actions
No browsing data, no tracking cookies, no advertising profile.
Why is this data used?
- Sending the invitation SMS with your personal link
- Sending you confirmations (spot reserved, payment, withdrawal)
- Enabling check-in at the event entrance via QR code
- Managing referrals if the organiser has enabled them
No other use. foolmoon does not contact you outside of events to which you have been invited.
Who has access to your data?
- The organiser of your event — for that event only
- Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — SMS provider, data processor, GDPR-compliant
- Stripe — only if you pay for your spot online, for payment processing
Your data is not sold, rented or shared with third parties for commercial or marketing purposes.
How long is your data retained?
Your data is retained as long as the organiser keeps their foolmoon account active. The organiser can delete an event or your profile at any time, permanently removing your data from the system.
Your rights
Under GDPR (Articles 15–22), you have the following rights:
- Immediate withdrawal: click "remove me from the list" in the SMS or on your invitation page — effective immediately
- Right of access to your data
- Right to rectification
- Right to erasure
- Right to restriction of processing
- Right to data portability

Complaints
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. As FoolMoon is established in Germany, the lead authority is the LfDI Baden-Württemberg. LfDI Baden-Württemberg.
Hosting
foolmoon.app is hosted on a dedicated server in Europe. Data does not leave the European Union, except for exchanges with Brevo and Stripe, which provide appropriate GDPR safeguards (standard contractual clauses).
